And Then There Were Three..

Three days left and today, I've decided, is the day that I have to come face to face with the fact that I am leaving. Usually it's easiest to know in the back of my head something is going to happen and expect nothing, that way I don't end up disappointed and I don't spend a month worrying about the unknown. Let's face it...we all could spend a life time worrying about that.

So, today I started packing and after getting all my shirts and tops into the suitcase I have half of it full. For those of you who do not see the problem I face it's that I still have pants, pajamas, swim suits, shoes, sock & such still to put in the suitcase... I think I'm doomed.

I guess this means I must simplify. As Christians we are always being told to simplify our lives so we can concentrate more on God... this applies to packing also I've found! (except for simplify your luggage only makes more room for more.. well.. luggage!)

Right now I've got a load of clothes tumbling in the dryer and a few scholarships left to deal with before I'm off to Walmart which I'm finding to be a blessing these days. It's amazing how you can pretty much get everything you need from one store!

I'll be sure to keep you updated on more interesting things next time. Please keep me in your prayers maybe even add in a prayer for an improvement in my packing skills!!

God Bless and All the Best,
Ashleigh Bingham

5 Days and Counting...

About a handful days left before I'm air born and I'm still not packed! How do you pack for three months?! I can barely pick out what I'm going to wear the next morning without changing my mind in the middle of the night!

Had dinner last night with a friend who has stayed with Jill before and she gave me some great advice and some things to consider before I'm already there. It's always nice to hear others' experiences so that I can somewhat get an understanding of what I should expect. I'm looking forward to it all!

Tomorrow I will be going to 10th Street Elementary to visit the 3rd,4th, and 5th grade students and share with them about my trip and some fun facts about the great country of New Zealand.

I must admit when I think about leaving home I get a bit nervous. Well, that's an understatement. Then again it's always easy to be afraid of losing everything when you are surrounded by things you've known your entire life. I know this is going to be a great opportunity for me and that God will be with me always, my only hope is that He makes that inescapably clear to me! : )

Keep me in your prayers,

Ashleigh Bingham
